Why is a newborn session important?
The first few weeks your newborn is here will go by so quickly! You will see your baby growing and changing daily. Before you know it, months will pass and you will find them in a completely different stage. Gone will be the days that they fit in your hands and it will be hard to imagine just how small they were.
Don’t take this time for granted because before you know it is gone. Having photos from a newborn session allow you more time to cherish and re-visit those beautiful moments. Imagine one day going through a portrait album with your child and telling them about all the little things that made you love them.
When should I book my newborn session?
Most mothers book their newborn session prior to the third trimester to ensure availability when their newborn arrives. The optimal window for newborn photos is 1-2 weeks old. After about 2 weeks, newborns become less flexible, more alert, and easier to startle. If your baby is older than 2 weeks we can still capture beautiful images that you and your family will love.
Newborn Safety
It is very easy for an untrained photographer to put your baby in an unsafe pose or position. An untrained person may put your baby in positions which are unnatural and can cause asphyxiation or undue stress. Felicia Saunders is the only newborn photographer in Las Vegas or Henderson trained in safe newborn posing and certified in infant CPR & choking rescue.
